49 years spent exploring and living with sport: as a young boy I was struck by cycling! Then the passion for windsurfing that later turned into my profession first as an instructor and then as owner of Ocean Tribe Watersport Alghero in Sardinia, the place where I decided to live with my family after working for years abroad alternating tourist facilities in Greece, Egypt, Cape Verde, Kenya. Military and civil parachuting with free fall jumps, athletics, wave surfing, diving, stand up paddle enrich my sporting curriculum. The discovery of marathons, triathlons and the subsequent dream come true of the long distance “ironman” (1900m swimming, 180km cycling, 42km running) are the experiences in the world of endurance that preceded my debut in the world of ultracycling in 2017 by participating in Race across Italy. Ultracycling represents a dream, a vision … not so much competition as adventure, knowledge of one’s own limits. The great opportunity that ultracycling offers us is to be able to leave our comfort zone where everything is set and controlled and see how it ends, with the hope of reaching the finish line and taking on the load of emotions.
